Terms
Brisbane beta terms
Last updated: 8 September 2026. HandyBoomer is a product of Astraark Pty Ltd (ABN 38 698 364 608). These terms apply to the beta at HandyBoomer.
What this is
HandyBoomer is an introduction marketplace. We introduce households and providers (tradies, professionals, and skilled helpers) for small jobs in Greater Brisbane. We are not the employer, not a party to the job contract, and not an escrow. The household and the provider agree price, timing, and payment between themselves.
Households
- Posting a job is free in this beta.
- At most three tradies can accept a job.
- You choose who to hire. You pay that tradie directly.
- Always sight a current trade licence (and insurance) on the job, matching the person doing the work.
- Nothing on the site is a binding quote from HandyBoomer.
Tradies
- One account is one role. Hire and work = two emails.
- Membership: three months free after you join, then Skills AUD $25 / Trades AUD $29 / Professional AUD $39 per month. GST inclusive where applicable. Recurring until you cancel. Membership is not a job fee.
- Legal, financial, health, food, and child-facing work still needs the matching credential before you can accept a lead.
- To accept a lead (max three per job) you pay $10 / $20 / $30 by card, or spend the same number of credits. Credit packs are optional and do not expire. The fee unlocks contact so you can compete. If the household chooses someone else, this fee is not returned.
- You cannot accept leads until your ABN is current (from the enforcement date) and, for licensed trades, your required licence has been approved against the public register.
- You cannot accept a job you posted on a household account.
Fair dealing
Australian Consumer Law still applies to the work a tradie does for a household. Our role is the introduction and the platform fees above.
We may refuse, pause, or disable an account if we reasonably believe someone is abusing the service, posting fake jobs, or bypassing verification. If something goes wrong on a job, use the in-app Dispute button — or email hello@handyboomer.com.au, call 0494 797 256, or use the Contact page. We can review the case and pause accounts. If you use in-app job messages, named staff may read that thread to handle a dispute or other support request, and to check service quality. We will not send messages pretending to be you. We do not hold the job payment and we cannot force a redo or refund what you paid each other.
Beta
